Working at Height

Industry is increasingly aware of the hazards and safety precautions involved when working at height. There is often a critical need for safe and effective rescues of workers who have experienced an arrested fall or who are trapped/incapacitated at height.

Employees who work at height should be properly equipped and trained in preventing arresting falls.  The correct equipment and procedures are essential in minimizing fall hazards.

Technical rope rescue techniques originated in mountaineering and have been adapted to industry for workers who perform their duties on elevated structures such as smokestacks, wind turbines, bridges, and radio towers.  These skills can also aid in rescues required in large complicated confined structures such as pulp digesters and ship holds.
